Topical Vs Pribulbar Anesthesia in Patients Undergoing 23 Guage ,Three Ports Removal of Sillicone Oil

Objective: To compare safety as well efficacy of topical anesthesia against peribulbar for patients undergoing three ports pars plana removal silicone oil . Background: Silicone is used a temponarding agent vitreoretinal procedures and have to be removed according the duration temponard required it associated with complications like development acceleration cataract devlopment , secondary open angle glaucoma corneal decompensation. It can via port 23 gauge ROSO procedure both under anesthesia. Patients & Methods: 40 eyes from who underwent system were randomised into two groups 20 each this study. In group A was operated using soaked cotton wisk 0.5 % proparacaine hydrochloride placed five minutes in superior inferior fornix before start surgery B peri bulbar block 4 ml bupivacaine given surgical procedure. Pain scoring charts by rate their pain after Results: The study had mean age 58.46 ±3.62 years, range 30-65 years. individuals treated, 26 being male 14 female. score 3.8+- 2.2+-0.2 p value 0.01.
